What is the story about?
As the Islanders visit the Predators, the good news, maybe, is that Kyle MacLean is a scratch reflecting dissatisfaction with the fourth line.
The bad news is the replacement is a seventh defenseman. Scott Mayfield steps in, and no one else comes out, so we could have a very odd setup tonight.
Does that mean Mayfield plays some (on the PK, perhaps?) or is just kept as dry powder in case of emergency. Presumably, they try to find action for all seven — heck, maybe play Matthew Schaefer on his own for half the game, then let the other three pairs cover the other half. Heh.
This is our game thread. Don’t overthink it.
