Kompany says players should appreciate club’s openness on plans (@iMiaSanMia)
Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany is in the awkward position of coaching some players who the club is not planning with…at all.
In the respective cases of João Palhinha, Sacha Boey, Bryan Zaragoza, and Armindo Sieb, the players are not even listed on the club’s website despite having valid contracts. For Kompany, Bayern Munich’s communication with these players should be appreciated, so the players can start to plan for what might be next.
“I think it’s a positive thing that the club communicates
clearly with the players. As a player back then, I would have wanted that, too. The club has made a clear statement, and we’re on the same page with that. But most importantly, we must treat them with respect. We will therefore, of course, continue to work with them as normal. When making decisions, one must communicate that clearly,” Kompany stated. “Until the transfer window closes, there is a clear position, and after that, we must just keep going as in all areas of life. But my job is to train the team and prepare the team as best as possible for the season.”
Honesty is still worth something, no doubt. However, it is a hard reality to show up motivated everyday when you know you are not wanted. Hopefully, Bayern Munich is able to sell the aforementioned players soon and everyone can move on with a clean split.
Gunners pushing for Vinícius Júnior (ESPN)
Arsenal is reportedly making a strong push for Real Madrid star Vinícius Júnior:
Arsenal are going all out to sign Real Madrid winger Vinícius Júnior and manager Mikel Arteta has stepped in to help make the transfer happen, according to Spanish newspaper AS. The Spanish coach has reportedly told the 26-year-old how important he would be for Arsenal. Vinícius is aware that Arsenal’s project would largely revolve around him — something Madrid have not clearly offered. The Brazil international has not been training amid the transfer saga. It is unknown whether he will inform Madrid whether he wishes to sign a new contract or not.
No concrete offer for Díaz (Sport Bild’s Christian Falk)
Contrary to some reports, Bayern Munich did not receive an offer from Al-Hilal for star winger Luis Díaz:
❌ It is NOT TRUE: Bayern Munich could sell Luis Diaz to the Saudi Pro League. Everyone loves Diaz in Munich just as much as everyone loved him at Liverpool (if not more!). His name is Lucho, he’s from Barrancas – and he won’t leave FC Bayern! I talked to both sides and found out that there has been no concrete offer from Al-Hilal. It’s also not true that there was a verbal agreement struck between the Colombian and the Saudi outfit. He’s very happy at Bayern Munich. Also, Jan Christian-Dreesen, the Bayern CEO, made it clear that it would be crazy for the club to sell Diaz this summer, as Bayern have a very good squad and the winger is a key part of it.
Díaz has become one of the most important pieces of the Bayern Munich squad and it would seem extremely unlikely that the Bavarians would be willing to disrupt the chemistry that the Colombian built up with Harry Kane and Michael Olise anyway.
Pejčinović to Stuttgart? (Sport1)
VfL Wolfsburg striker Dženan Pejčinović could be on his way to VfB Stuttgart:
VfB Stuttgart have reportedly already reached an agreement in principle with the player. Pejcinovic could receive a contract with the club until 2031. For VfB, Pejcinovic would be one of the most expensive signings in the club’s history. Only the permanent signing of Deniz Undav has cost Stuttgart more. The German international cost €26.7 million when he transferred from Brigton in 2024.
VfB Stuttgart is reportedly close to reaching an agreement with VfL Wolfsburg for the transfer of center forward Dzenan Pejcinovic. The 21-year-old German U21 international, who also holds Montenegrin citizenship, is under contract with Wolfsburg until June 30, 2029.
As reported by the Wolfsburg Allgemeine Zeitung (WAZ) , Stuttgart have increased their offer for the striker once again. According to the report, the offer now stands at €23.5 million, bringing it significantly closer to VfL Wolfsburg’s demands. Wolfsburg are still reportedly insisting on a total package of around €25 million.
According to the report, negotiations are currently focused on performance-related bonus payments to resolve the remaining differences between the clubs. The transfer is said to be in its final stages. FC Porto is also reportedly showing strong interest in Pejcinovic, but Stuttgart is now considered the favorite to sign the striker.
LFC, PSG exiting the race for Diomandé? (ESPN)
Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain are quietly exiting the race for RB Leipzig attacker Yan Diomandé because the two clubs think the winger is headed to Real Madrid:
Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain are both refusing to re-engage with the race to sign RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande after being approached by intermediaries, as they believe he remains fully committed to joining Real Madrid, according to TEAMtalk. Madrid reached an agreement with the 19-year-old on personal terms but the transfer has been delayed by negotiations between them and Leipzig, with the structure of the add-ons package being the main issue.
BVB signs Karetsas (Borussia Dortmund)
Borussia Dortmund made the signing of Konstantinos Karetsas official:
✍️ Borussia Dortmund signs 18-year-old Greek talent Konstantinos Karetsas from KRC Genk. The attacking player signs a contract with BVB until 30.06.2031.
Karetsas, who was closely linked to Bayern Munich just a few months ago, will be a talent to watch in the Bundesliga this season.
