Jose Aldo finally got his moment.
During a break in the action at UFC Rio on Saturday, the former featherweight king was honored
in a long-awaited retirement ceremony that took place in the octagon at Farmasi Arena in Rio de Janeiro. In his prime, Aldo was one of the most feared fighters in all of combat sports, recording nine successful title defenses at 145 pounds across WEC and UFC and winning 25 of his first 26 fights.Now 39, Aldo enjoyed an emotional moment in the cage with his wife and daughter
five months after his final fight. Aldo lost a controversial unanimous decision to Aiemann Zahabi at UFC 315 in May and subsequently announced his retirement. On Saturday, he was given the chance to lay his gloves down in the octagon for good.
