UFC CEO, Dana White, was “talking nonstop” to Conor McGregor about fighting at UFC White House and claimed “Notorious” was “in the pool.”
He left out the part about McGregor getting suspended for violating
the promotion’s anti-doping policy.
Now that the proverbial cat is out of the bag, White is changing his tune. In fact, the Las Vegas fight boss insists he’s yet to have a single conversation about the CBS-televised event, expected for June 2026.
Assuming the lawn is ready by then.
“We’re not even looking at the White House card until February,” White told reporters at Tuesday’s “Contender Series” media scrum. “We have literally not talked about one fight on the White House card yet. We won’t even start until February. And then whether [McGregor is] available or not, talk to Novitzky about that.”
Jeff Novitzky is Senior Vice President of Athlete Health and Performance for UFC.
McGregor, expected to remain under suspension until late March, will be just a few weeks shy of his 38th birthday when UFC stages its White House card. It will also be nearly five years since “Notorious” competed, leading to speculation that McGregor is just using UFC headlines to keep himself relevant.
We’ll find out (one way or the other) next March.
