Today presents what could be an entertaining day of college football, with five conference championship games on the schedule.
As it relates to the Cleveland Browns and their future plans at quarterback,
there are two games that stand out above the others.
First up at 4 p.m. is Georgia vs. Alabama in the SEC Championship Game, where Crimson Tide quarterback Ty Simpson will have the opportunity to polish his résumé with a second win of the season over the Bulldogs.
Then at 8 p.m., the Big 10 Championship Game kicks off between Indiana and Ohio State, which will provide Hoosier quarterback Fernando Mendoza a primetime audience to show what he can do in only his second game against a decent opponent this season.
No matter the outcome on the scoreboard, both Indiana and Alabama should advance to the college football playoffs, which means there will be at least one more opportunity for Simpson and Mendoza to show the Browns (and other quarterback-starved NFL teams) that they are worthy of being the latest franchise saviors.
Speaking of which, tomorrow brings the Browns vs. the Tennessee Titans in a matchup of a quarterback destined to be a backup and a quarterback whose team is banking on being a star.
