Now that all the preseason fun is over, the cuts are already trickling in. On Sunday, the Broncos released Clay Webb, Joshua Pickett, Micah Abraham, Joaquin Davis, and Andrew Farmer. Monday will certainly see more action as the Broncos march toward their goal of a 53-man roster by Tuesday at 2pm.
Although the first team offense struggled during the preseason at times, it can’t
be denied that this Broncos squad is deeper than in year’s past. The Denver Broncos are no longer a team a team that has send their have-nots out there to play during the regular season. There has been an upgrade in overall team quality. The Broncos are coming into the regular season with the expectation to win.
Denver already shocked the NFL when they sent Devaughn Vele to the Saints for a 2026 4th round pick and a 2027 7th round pick. Could there be more trades? Keep your eyes Jarrett Stidham and Audric Estime. Stidham played exceptionally well during the preseason and could draw interest from teams in need of a little help at quarterback. Estime, on the other hand, has found himself on the outside looking in with regard to the Broncos running back room. Look for the Broncos to accept just about any offer on him if they can get it. Heck, I would be happy if the Broncos could trade him for something useful, like a ham sandwich.
As of early Monday morning, the Broncos still need to cut about 32-players to get down to the 53 they are going to carry into the season. They will emerge from this process as one of the odds-on favorites to make some noise this season.
