We knew the Arizona Cardinals were bringing back Zay Jones based on reports yesterday, today we know that it is on the practice squad to begin with.
From the team:
The Arizona Cardinals Football Club today announced that the team has signed offensive lineman Kingsley Eguakun (eh-GWOK-in) to the active roster from the practice squad and has signed wide receiver Zay Jones to the practice squad.
The signings took place today at the Dignity Health Arizona Cardinals Training Center in Tempe, AZ.
Jones (6-2,
200) returns to the Cardinals after playing 19 games (two starts) the past two seasons with Arizona when he had 20 receptions for 267 yards. He is a nine-year NFL veteran who has also played with the Jaguars (2022-23), Raiders (2019-21) and Bills (2017-19) in his career and has 307 receptions for 3,295 yards (10.7-yard avg.) and 18 touchdowns in 123 games (69 starts). The 31-year old Jones entered the league with Buffalo as a second-round selection (37th overall) in the 2017 NFL Draft from East Carolina
Jones will wear jersey #9.
Eguakan is going to be interesting to see if he is going to potentially play or just depth, while Jones is likely just going to need a couple of weeks to get into shape and into the playbook.
