Good morning, Broncos Country. The Denver Broncos will host their annual rookie minicamp starting on May 8-May 10. On top of this year’s rookie class and undrafted free agent signees, the Broncos have invited over twenty other players to participate.
In addition to the above, Denver is also bringing in two quarterbacks to be the team’s signal callers during the three-day event. According to 9News insider Mike Klis, quarterback Nathan Peterman will be present. He certainly isn’t a rookie, but a player
who has enough experience to guide the way for all the rookies looking to continue their NFL journeys.
A former fifth-round pick of the Buffalo Bills, Peterman has appeared in fifteen games with five starts. Sporting a 1-4 record as a starter, he has thrown for 712 yards (53-percent completion percentage) with 4 touchdowns and 13 interceptions in his NFL career. He was most recently a member of the Atlanta Falcons on their practice squad in 2024.
Per NFL reporter Mike Garafolo, the other quarterback to help lead the way during the session will be E.J. Warner, the son of Hall of Fame quarterback Kurt Warner. A four-year collegiate starter, Warner spent his first two seasons at Temple (2022-23) before transferring to Rice in 2024. Last season, he started 10 games for Fresno State and completed nearly 70-percent of his passes for 2,030 yards with 13 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
Maybe, just maybe, Warner will impress enough during minicamp to earn a chance to compete for a spot on Denver’s practice squad over the course of the summer.
