Bayern Munich and Serge Gnabry will continue their partnership as the attacker just signed a new deal with the Rekordmeister until the summer of 2028, per FCBayern.com. As you can probably remember, Gnabry’s contract was set to expire this June, and this new deal will keep him in Bayern’s books for 2 more years.
Board member for sport Max Eberl praised Gnabry’s contribution to the team, stressing the importance of his role in the team. “Serge Gnabry has grown at Bayern and is one of the absolute pillars
of this team. He’s hugely important both on the pitch and in the changing room. He’s won it all with this club and still wants more. That makes him a role model. He represents Bayern.”
Moreover, sporting director Cristoph Freund expressed his joy of keeping Gnabry as a Bayern player. “Everyone can see how much Serge Gnabry enriches our game. He’s versatile in attack, quick, skilled on the ball and in finishing. We’re delighted he’ll continue to play for Bayern, as he also has an important role in our team with his demeanour and character.”
In turn, Gnabry emphasized his connection with the club, city and fans alike. “I’m excited to get to play for Bayern for more years. Talks were always positive. When I started at Bayern, I never would’ve thought that I’d be here for 10 years by the end of this contract. My goals are to keep things going. We’re a real unit and can achieve something big. The reasons to renew my contract are the team, the coaches, the whole club, the fans, the city and the environment. I feel very much at home at Bayern.”
Gnabry has made 311 appearances and scored 100 goals for Bayern since joining in the summer of 2018 (FCBayern.com).
