Bayern Munich loanees had a successful week in Europe, but then some struggled when they got back to league play. It was also an interesting week in Austria as one loanee earned his first goal and the other’s team was given a 3-0 win due to a forfeit. A handful of loanees will be called into international duty — at the senior or U21 level — next weekend. Those called up are noted with their team’s next match. Here is what the loanees did this week:
FC Bayern Munich
There are nine players from on loan from the first
team.
Germany – Bundesliga
There are four players on loan to the German Bundesliga: Alexander Nübel, Arijon Ibrahimovic, Daniel Peretz, and Armando Sieb.
Alexander Nübel – VfB Stuttgart
Nübel started in goal for Stuttgart as they took on Feyenoord on Thursday in the Europa League. He only needed one save in the first half with both keepers holding the shutout until late in the match. While Nübel recorded three saves after the 90th minutes to keep the shutout, Stuttgart scored two late goals to win it 2-0. Nübel’s four saves and his high pass completion rate, led to him being named man of the match.
Nübel started again on Sunday against Augsburg at home. He again recorded four shots but this time conceded two first-half goals. The match was level 2-2 at halftime. Nübel and his defense were able to keep a second half shutout. Stuttgart Undav was able to score a late winner to secure all three points with a final score of 3-2.
Stuttgart will be on the road against BVB Dortmund after the international break. Nübel has been called up to the Germany squad for their last two World Cup Qualifiers.
Arijon Ibrahimović – 1. FC Heidenheim
Ibrahimović started and played the full 90 minutes for Heidenheim away to Bayer Leverkusen. It was a long day at the office for him and his teammates. He only had one shot — which was blocked — and was not able to create any chances for his teammates to shoot. He was also unable to help his team much on defense as they allowed the home team to put six goals in the back of the net. The final score was 6-0.
Heidenheim will host Borussia Monchengladbach after the international break. Ibrahimović will be with Germany’s U21s for their matches against Malta and Georgia.
Daniel Peretz – Hamburger SV
Peretz was on the bench as the second keeper for HSV’s 1-1 draw at home against BVB Dortmund.
HSV will travel to Augsburg after the international break. Peretz was not called in for Israel’s last two World Cup Qualifiers.
Armindo Sieb – 1. FSV Mainz 05
Sieb started for Mainz on Thursday when they hosted Italian side Fiorentina in the Conference League. He played the first 60 minutes recording just one shot — off target — and created zero chances for his teammates to shoot. He left the match with his team down 1-0. Luckily for Mainz, his team’s attack woke and scored two goals. They took all three points in league phase play with a score of 2-1.
Mainz travelled to Frankfurt on Sunday; Sieb started on the bench. He came into the match in the 71st minute down 1-0. He was unable to contribute much to the match, completing just two passes in his 15 touches. Mainz was not able to find a goal and the match ended 1-0.
Mainz will host Hoffenheim after the international break.
England – Premier League
There are two player on loan to the English Premier League: João Palhinha and Jonah Kusi-Asare.
João Palhinha – Tottenham
For Spurs’ 4-0 Champions League win see last week’s edition.
Palhinha started for Tottenham at home against Manchester United. He had one shot on goal, which was the first for Spurs in the 56th minute. He also completed 86% of his passes, but none of them resulted in a chance for his teammates to shoot. He was subbed off in the 79th minute with Spurs down 1-0. Spurs would score two late goals, but former Bayern play Matthijs de Ligt scored an equalizer in the 96th minute. The match ended 2-2.
Tottenham will be away to North London rivals, Arsenal, after the international break. Palhinha has been called up to Portugal’s squad for their final World Cup Qualifiers.
Jonah Kusi-Asare – Fulham
Kusi-Asare was not in the matchday squad for Fullham’s 2-0 loss at Everton.
Fullham will host Sunderland after the break. Kusi-Asare has been called into Sweden’s U21 squad for their upcoming U21 Euros qualification.
Spain – La Liga
Bryan Zaragoza is the only player on loan to Spain’s La Liga.
Bryan Zaragoza – Celta Vigo
Zaragoza started for Celta Vigo in Croatia against Dinamo Zagreb in Europa League play. He had two shots — both off target — and created three chances for his teammates to shoot. One of those chances turned into an assist on Celta’s third goal. He left the match in the in 63rd minute with his team up 3-0. Celta Vigo held on on the road and won 3-0.
Celta Vigo returned home for a league match against Barcelona. Zaragoza started on the bench and entered the match in the 58th minute. Celta was down 3-2 at the time, but Lewandowski finished off his hattrick just minutes after Zaragoza entered the field. He did not record a shot nor a chance for his teammates to shoot. Neither team scored after Lewandowski and Barca went home will all three points with a 4-2 win.
Celta Vigo will be on the road to Deportivo Alaves after the break.
Switzerland – Super League
Lovro Zvonarek is the only player on loan from the first team to the Swiss Super League.
Lovro Zvonarek – Grasshopper
Zvonarek started and played the full match for Grasshopper away to Winterthur. He had three shots — one on goal, one missed wide, and on blocked. He also created three chances for his teammates to shoot. His biggest contributions happened back on defense. Zvonarek had five tackles, three clearances, four interceptions, and nine recoveries. This helped his team secure a shutout. Grasshopper were able to find a late stoppage time goal to earn all three points on the road. The final score was 1-0.
Grasshopper will host FC Basel after the break. Zvonarek will be with Croatia’s U21s in their qualifiers for next year’s U21 Euros.
Germany – 2. Bundesliga
There are two players from the first team on loan to the 2. Bundesliga: Maurice Krattenmacher and Tarek Buchman.
Maurice Krattenmacher – Hertha BSC
Krattenmacher started on the bench for Hertha’s match on the road to Kaiserslautern. He entered the match in the 82nd minute with Hertha up 1-0. He had just four touches and completed both passes he attempted in that short time on the field. His efforts were enough to help his team clinch a 1-0 shutout on the road.
Hertha will host Eintracht Braunschweig after the international break.
Tarek Buchman – 1. FC Nürnberg
Buchman is still on the injury list with a foot injury. His approximate return date has been pushed back to late November.
Nürnberg beat Dynamo Dresden on the road this weekend. They will host Arminia Bielefeld after the break.

Germany – 2. Bundesliga
There are two players on loan from the second team in the 2. Bundesliga: Noel Aseko and Paul Scholl.
Noel Aseko – Hannover 96
Aseko started for Hannover at home against Darmstadt. He did not have a shot attempt but created two chances for his teammates to shoot. He played 70 minutes and left the match when it was level 2-2. His team allowed a late stoppage time winner and fell 3-2 at home, letting Darmstadt leap over them in the standings.
Aseko will be with Germany’s U21s for their U21 Euro Qualification matches.
Paul Scholl – Karlsruher SC
Scholl started on the bench for KSC as they travelled to face Arminia Bielefeld. He came into the match in the 71st minute with his team down 4-0. He was unable to contribute very much to the match with his team down so much. The score did not change in the last 20 minutes and KSC fell 4-0.
Karlsruhe will face SC Elversberg after the break.
Germany – 3. Liga
Max Schmitt is the only player on loan in the 3. Liga.
Max Schmitt – SSV Ulm 1846
Schmitt finally got a chance to start in goal as Ulm hosted Hansa Rostock. Although he had six saves throughout the match, he also conceded five goals. The first goal came in the 13th minute from the penalty spot. By halftime it was 4-0. Hansa scored one more goal in the 81st minute and won 5-0. Unfortunately not the best showing for Schmitt in a rare chance to start.
Ulm will be on the road against TSV Havelse after the break.
Germany – Regionalliga
There are two players on loan in the Regionalliga Südwest: Benedikt Wimmer and David Emmanuel.
Benedikt Wimmer – SV Sandhausen
Wimmer started and played the full 90 minutes for Sandhausen against SGV Freiburg. He was able to help on defense to keep a shutout. Sandhausen was able to get one goal to win 1-0.
Sandhausen will play through the international break, starting with a trip away to FC 08 Homburg on Saturday.
David Emmanuel – Hessen Kassel
Emmanuel was on the bench for Kassel’s 2-1 win against TSV Steinbach Haiger but did not make it onto the pitch.
Kassel will host Kickers Offenbach on Saturday.
Switzerland – Super League
Johnathan Asp Jensen is the only player from the second league on loan to the Swiss Super League.
Johnathan Asp Jensen – Grasshopper
Asp started for Grasshopper against Winterthur on the road. He had four shots — two on goal and two blocked — and created two chances for his teammates to shoot. He was not able to directly influence a goal in this match, but luckily his team scored a stoppage time winner to beat the league’s worst team 1-0.
Grasshopper will host FC Basel after the break.
Austria – Bundesliga
Maximilian Hennig is the only player on loan to the Austrian Bundesliga.
Maximillian Hennig – TSV Hartberg
Hennig started for Hartberg on the road against Wolfsberger AC. He had just one shot but it turned into the opening goal in the 23rd minute and his first goal of the season. He also helped his team on defense, recording four tackles, one block, four clearances, and six recoveries. This was enough to help his team keep a shutout until one of his teammates scored an own goal in the 87th minute. Luckily, Hartberg had scored a goal man down in the 74th minute. Hartberg won gutted out a 2-1 win on the road.
Hartberg will host Ried after the international break.
Austria – 2. Liga
Mudaser Sedat is the only person on loan to Austria’s second league.
Mudaser Sadat – Amstetten
Amstetten was awarded a 3-0 win because SV Stripfing was not able to field a team for their match this weekend.
Amstetten will be on the road to SK Austria Klagenfurt after the international break.
FC Bayern Munich Frauen
There are two players on loan from the women’s team.
Spain – Primera División Femenina
Edna Imade is the only player on loan to Spain’s Primera División Femenina.
Edna Imade – Real Sociedad
Imade started for Real Sociedad and played all 90 minutes. She had the least amount of touches (34) of any player on the field for the full 90 minutes. She also had four shots — one on goal, one blocked, and two off target — and was also credited with a big chance missed. Even though she was not able to put the ball in the back of the net, Sociedad was still able to win 3-2 on the road to Espanyol.
Real Sociedad will host Athletic Club on Sunday.
Brazil – Brasileirão Feminino
Ana Guzmán is the only player on loan to Brazil’s Brasileirão Feminino.
Ana Guzmán – SE Palmerias
Guzmán was on the bench for Palmerias’ 0-0 draw at home against league leaders Corinthians, but did not make it onto the pitch.
Palmerias will face Santos on Thursday on the road and will be home on Sunday against Taubate.
