Welcome to The Daily Merengue — a place where you can feel free to discuss all things football. Do not be alarmed by the overt RMCF bias. It’s in the name!
Shoutout to the Mods who do a fantastic job, Valyrian Steel, Ezek XI, KungFuZizou, NeRObutBlanco, Felipejack, and Juninho.
A DAY IN THE SUN
Everybody gets their day in the sun. Especially players in sports. Today, the part of the dressing room that was against Xabi from the start, for whatever reason. Yesterday they won the battle, they finally got their victory.
Xabi is out. But managers have longer careers than players, unless you’re Cristiano. Xabi is 44, he can coach till he’s 65 or 70, he’ll be around for a while. By then, most of these guys will be OUT OF THIS CLUB and/or retired. I hope these players know that Real Madrid will not feel sorry for you when it’s your turn to leave. All of a sudden, the political power they wield will soon vanish, as they’re ushered out of the club. What a vile 5 months it’s been. Only player that stood up for him was Tchouameni, everyone else were either quiet or picked sides. I pray Tchou sees unprecedented success and growth for France and us! I love that Endrick chose his development over proving a point in the midst of this ghastly political war between Xabi and the locker room.
XABI ALONSO
And just like that, Xabi-Ball has come to a very short end. Many to blame, but wise move to call it quits on Xabi’s side. I can’t imagine the mental turmoil of dealing with people that resist you in the workplace, that’s enough on its own. Will he come back in the future? i doubt it. I wish him unprecedented success and trebles.
ARBELOA
Is he ready for this? we’ll soon see. The fact that the appointment happened quick, must’ve meant that the club was already talking to him and probably others, way ahead of time. More quick-vile work from the board.
