According to a report from Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, Bayern Munich could look to keep goalkeeper Manuel Neuer out until April to ensure he is fully healthy. After suffering a setback during the team’s 4-1 victory over Borussia Mönchengladbach, common sense might finally be prevailing:
🚨🆕 Manuel #Neuer will definitely miss Tuesday’s first leg in Bergamo and Saturday’s match against Leverkusen.
There is also a possibility that he could miss the second leg against Bergamo + Union Berlin. The plan
is for him to use the international break to return to full fitness and be back in goal by 4 April against Freiburg at the latest.
Of course, this is all contingent on Bayern Munich actually following the plan. Too often in 2026, players have returned too early from injuries and faced a longer spell on the sidelines. It has become…a problem.
Hopefully, Bayern Munich is able to keep Neuer out of action and have him full ready to go against SC Freiburg on April 4th.
