Lake Lanier didn’t scare the Syracuse women’s rowing squad as the Orange earned a program-best 9th place finish at the NCAA Championships over the weekend.
Texas won the event with 130 points followed by Stanford with 125 and Tennesse in third with 119. Syracuse tallied 80 points.
It was the first time in program history that the Orange have sent all three boats through to the A/B
semifinals. While Syracuse wasn’t able to get a boat in the grand final, all three earned spots in the petite final.
The first Varsity 8 was 3rd in their race to finish 9th overall. The second Varsity 8 was 4th in their petite final which gave them a 10th place finish, the best NCAA finish for a Syracuse 2V8 boat. The varsity four boat was 5th in their final and 11th overall.
Syracuse had finished 10th overall back in 2021 and now they complete the 2026 season with a new program standard to shoot for in the coming years.
Congratulations to the Orange on an outstanding end to their season.
