BYU and Utah State announced a two game series Tuesday morning. The teams will play December 9, 2026 in the Marriott Center and again in 2027 in the Delta Center in Salt Lake City.
This is the first meeting between the schools since 2021. BYU has won the past 10 matchups. Utah State’s release says the ticket allotment for 2027 game in SLC will be split 50/50 between the two schools.
Utah State has made the NCAA Tournament four consecutive seasons and
will be another Quad 1/Quad 2 game on BYU’s non-conference schedule. BYU’s non-conference schedule is taking shape. Quality games on BYU’s non-conference schedule next season include the season opener versus Ohio State (SLC), San Diego State (Palm Springs), Utah State (Provo), and three games over Thanksgiving in the Maui Invitational. BYU is continuing to schedule games. BYU didn’t have any notable non-conference home games last season, and the game in Provo this year will give fans a quality home game in the non-league slate.
Utah State joins the Pac-12 next season and returns MWC POY Mason Falslev as well as MWC Sixth Man of the Year Karson Templin. Gonzaga will likely be favored to win the league, but Utah State should be a NCAA Tournament team once again and compete for a single-digit seed in the tournament.
