What is the story about?
According to a report by The Athletic’s Jesús Cano, Atlanta Braves first round pick AJ Gracia underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum in his shoulder and will miss the rest of the season. According to the report, the surgery was performed on Wednesday by Dr. Neil ElAttrache with Gracia expected to miss seven to 10 months.
Gracia was selected ninth overall by the Braves out of the University of Virginia. He took an underslot deal when he signed. Gracia was ranked second on Battery Power’s mid-season
prospect list.
Cano reported Gracia’s surgery based on information from anonymous sources as the team has not announced this news.
