Tennessee will stay home this afternoon for senior day, set to take on the Vanderbilt Commodores for the second time this season. The Volunteers will be looking for their second win over the ‘Dores, coming off of a 69-65 victory two weeks ago in Nashville.
They’ll likely have to do it without Nate Ament, however. Tennessee listed its star wing as doubtful for today’s matchup after missing Tuesday night’s game against South Carolina. Ament suffered the injury, which has been described as a high ankle
sprain by Rick Barnes, last weekend against Alabama.
Bishop Boswell is listed as probable after battling illness late this week.
Tennessee can clinch a double-bye with a win this afternoon. A loss makes things more complicated, but it’s still possible. The Volunteers are also trying to solidify a No. 5 seed or better in the NCAA Tournament.
Vanderbilt, 10-7 in conference play, is also in the mix for the double-bye, but obviously need a win today in Knoxville first.
