Injuries have been the theme of any San Francisco 49ers discussion, and that predates this season. They’ve been tested the first two weeks, but never in ways like they will today.
It’s one thing to lose multiple defensive linemen. It’s another to lose that depth and your best player, Nick Bosa. Raheem Morris will attempt to create a pass rush with smoke and mirrors.
As always, the 49ers’ best friend today is their offense. Brock Purdy has been exceptional to begin the season. With so many injuries,
the offense is under even more pressure to maintain an already impressive pace.
As much as Shanahan wants this team to be complementary, that becomes a tall task without Bosa. There’s still Fred Warner, and a few other players who have stepped up. However, the margin for error becomes non-existent with the defensive line filled with players from the practice squad.
