Barcelona have confirmed that an agreement has been reached with Panathinaikos for goalkeeper Inaki Pena to join the Greek side.
Pena spent last season out on loan in La Liga at Elche but now moves in a permanent deal which is reportedly worth around 3 million euros.
Here’s Barcelona’s official statement:
“FC Barcelona and Panathinaikos FC have reached an agreement for the transfer of Iñaki Peña to the Greek club.
“27-year-old Iñaki Peña joined the FC Barcelona youth system in 2012 from Villarreal, moving
through the age categories at La Masia before making his debut for the first team in January of 2023. During his time as a blaugrana, the goalkeeper spent periods gaining experience on loan: at Galatasaray in the 2021/22 season and last season with Elche CF.
“FC Barcelona would like to publicly thank Iñaki Peña for his commitment, professionalism and dedication during his time in blaugrana and wishes him all the best in this next stage of professional career.”
Pena has been a good servant for Barcelona but moves on in search of regular game time and will hopefully shine with his new club.
Goodbye and good luck, Inaki!
