Kevin Henry of the Denver Gazette is reporting that the Colorado Rockies will promote Blaine Crim and send current first baseman back to Triple-A Albuquerque.
The Rockies confirmed the move shortly after Henry’s reporting.
They claimed Crim off waivers
from the Texas Rangers on September 3, 2025.
Crim has 99 at-bats with the Topes, including 27 hits, three of which have been home runs. He’s currently slashing .273/.360/.424 with an OPS of .784.
Toglia, meanwhile, has struggled in 2025, and the Rockies have worked with him in an attempt to improve his production at the plate. With the Rockies this season, he’s slashing .190/.258/.353 with a .611 OPS. In Albuquerque, he’s done better (.336/.412/.627 with a 1.039 OPS including nine homers in 134 at-bats).
However, after returning to the Rockies on September 10, Toglia has been ineffective, striking out six times in eight plate appearances. Toglia was replacing Warming Bernabel, who is on the Concussion Protocol IL.
Crim will wear #16, and since he is already on the 40-man roster, no additional moves are necessary.
