The Wisconsin Badgers are facing off against the No. 6 Oregon Ducks in Week 9, looking to snap a five-game losing streak and get their first Big Ten win of the season.
Wisconsin is coming off a 34-0 loss
to the No. 1 Ohio State Buckeyes, marking the second straight game they were shut out for the first time since 1977. They’ve also lost five straight games by 14+ points, failing to really be competitive in any of them.
Offensively, the Badgers conjured just 144 yards of total offense, of which 50 came on the team’s final drive. They couldn’t move the ball in the air (Hunter Simmons was 6/12 for 54 yards and an interception) and really struggled on the ground.
Defensively, Wisconsin held a middling Ohio State rushing attack in check, but Buckeyes quarterback Julian Sayin had a career-high 394 passing yards to go with four touchdowns as he completed 85.7 percent of his passes.
Wisconsin takes on an Oregon team that blew out Rutgers 56-10 last weekend, bouncing back from a 30-20 loss to the No. 2 Indiana Hoosiers.
However, the Badgers are severely banged up ahead of Saturday’s game, with several starters either questionable or out.
