Bayern Munich star Luis Díaz is known for his durability and reliability, helping massively in spells out of possession during games. It is because of these traits that made him so indispensable that he nearly played all available games for the Bavarians. He had no stable back-up, but he did not mind per his interview with Sky Germany’s Kerry Hau (as captured by X account @iMiaSanMia).
“Of course, I always want to play; I love playing. That’s normal. But if there’s someone who can help out in my position,
they’re more than welcome,” Díaz said. “It helps a lot when things aren’t going well – then you have a teammate there to help you, and you can rotate between each other. That’s very important. I would have liked that, but well, it didn’t happen. We’re good enough as we are too. Now we have a break after this game, then the international matches are coming up… and this break will also help us mentally prepare for what’s still to come this season, and it will be good.”
Fans pointed out that his accumulated minutes last season for both Bayern and Colombia at the World Cup may have resulted in fatigue, due to the Colombian’s rough start to this season. The club therefore tried to sign another left-winger, but were unable to do so.
