Anthony Gordon says he’s more like Raphinha than Lamine Yamal when asked to compare his playing style to the two Barcelona attackers.
The England winger completed his move to Barcelona on Friday, signing a five-year contract with the Catalans giants and has told fans what they can expect from him.
“If I have to choose, I think I’m more like Raphinha: a lot of intensity, speed, and technique. I always like to score goals. I think that helps the team win matches and titles,” he said at his unveiling.
Gordon also spoke about the conversation he’s had with Hansi Flick and how he’d love to win the Champions League with Barcelona.
“Yes, I spoke with Flick. I was already excited, but after speaking with him I’m even more so. He’s an incredible coach; he’s achieved a lot in a short time. I hope we can win many titles,” he added.
“I’ve only won one title and I’m eager to win more. If I could choose just one, it would be the Champions League. Number six.
“But I want to win everything. Winning any title with Barça is very special, but the Champions League is the best trophy. It would be an iconic moment I’d never forget, especially if I could achieve it in my first season.”
Gordon will now be hoping to line up alongside Raphinha and Lamine Yamal next season for Barcelona as Flick aims to bring more silverware to the Catalan giants in the 2026-27 campaign.
