NFL Insider Aaron Wilson reported that former San Francisco 49ers free agent offensive lineman signed a one-year deal with the Las Vegas Raiders.
Burford, who started 38 games at both guard spots since 2022, gets a fresh start in the AFC West with the Raiders. The Niners elected to go a different route than they did with their former draft pick in free agency.
The team added Brett Toth and Vederian Lowe, effectively closing the door on Burford’s return to the Bay Area. Burford did his job and stepped
in as needed. For a Day 3 pick to play and contribute as much as he did, Burford’s tenure should be viewed as a success.
Unfortuantely, the lowlights won’t be forgotten, especially at the most critical times, which is what he will be remembered for.
Burford joins a guard group in Las Vegas that includes Jordan Meredith, Atonio Mafi, and McClendon Curtis on the left side. So, he’ll have an opportunity to earn a roster spot.
