Jamal Musiala and Konrad Laimer were both absent from Bayern Munich’s team training at Säbener Straße on Monday, although there does not appear to be major concern surrounding either player.
According to Maximilian Koch of Abendzeitung (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Laimer did not take part in the session after picking up a knock during Bayern Munich’s match against RB Leipzig. The issue is not considered serious, however, providing some reassurance ahead of Saturday’s Supercup against Borussia Dortmund.
Musiala also did not train with the rest of the squad. Instead, the Bayern Munich star worked individually at Säbener Straße as he continues his return to full fitness.
There was nevertheless a positive update regarding Musiala from Tz (via @iMiaSanMia). The 23-year-old completed a 30-minute individual session behind closed doors today.
That is an encouraging step for Musiala, particularly with Bayern Munich preparing for their first competitive match of the season.
Bayern Munich will not want to rush Musiala back, especially given the importance of his recovery. At the same time, every individual session brings him closer to returning to team training and potentially featuring again.
Laimer’s knock also appears to be more precautionary than problematic at this stage.
With the Supercup against Borussia Dortmund approaching, the next few training sessions should provide a clearer indication of whether either player will be available.
