Today, Racing Louisville announced star Emma Sears has reached an agreement with the club and signed a new three-year contract through 2028.
“I’m so proud to be continuing my career with Racing Louisville FC — a club and city that have truly become home for me,” Sears said. “We’ve built something special here. I’m motivated to grow as a player, compete for championships and to make Louisville proud. I’m excited for the opportunity to continue building with this team, and I am fully committed to help
push this club to new heights in the seasons ahead!”
Sears is currently among the top goal scorers in the league with 10, which places her third with Ludmila, behind Esther González (13) and Temwa Chawinga (14), respectively.
Her finishing abilities are among the best in the NWSL and just recently she has set the club’s scoring record with 10 goals in a single season. That places her tied for third most in the league.
Internationally, she has already earned eight caps with the USWNT.
Currently, Louisville is seventh in the table with 32 points, with them currently holding a playoff spot. No doubt, Sears’ goals contributions (11) have been invaluable this season and have helped the club to push for a playoff spot.
“In her two years here in Louisville, Emma has quickly become a foundational player for this club, and she’s only scratching the surface of her potential. Keeping her here has been a priority for us,” Racing general manager Caitlyn Flores Milby said. “We’re building something exciting and sustainable here in Louisville, and we’re thrilled that Emma has committed to this club as we chase playoff success this season and beyond.”
Sears was picked by the club in the 2024 NWSL Draft in the second round, 28th overall, and she had an immediate impact on the field with five goals in 12 games in her rookie season.
“We are thrilled to sign Emma to a new contract,” Racing head coach Bev Yanez said. “She’s shown continued growth in her role each season and has contributed so much to this group in such a short time. We look forward to what her future looks like here in lavender!”
