Ladies and gentlemen, your morning tailgate music:
There are no bad mornings to wake up in Athens, Georgia. But this feels like a particularly good one to see the sunrise in the Classic City. The Oklahoma Sooners are coming into Sanford Stadium, and you need to be ready. Allow us to help. Here’s what you need to know before you go yell at those Land Thieves for three solid hours.
As always, we begin with this week’s hype video narrated, most appropriately, by Sony Michel.
As our good friend Wes Blankenship would say, ““if that don’t light your fire, then your wood’s wet.”
On the injury front, Oklahoma is pretty banged up, but did get some good news when junior defensive tackle David Stone was upgraded to questionable after a knee injury in practice on Monday. Wide receivers Jer’Michael Carter and Trll Harris are also out. Carter was a solid contributor in 2025, and Harris caught 59 passes for 857 yards last year at Virginia. While senior receiver Isaiah Sategna and tight end Rocky Beers are the Sooners’ leading receivers, the absence of Carter and Harris definitely crimps John Mateer’s options in the passing game.
The main Bulldog injury news is that Nate Frazier remains questionable after going out against Arkansas. Kirby Smart said after the game that Frazier was just “dinged up” and could have gone back in if he needed to. I’m beginning to think that meant “if it had been the 4th quarter of the national title game he could have gone backnin” and that Frazier’s ding may be a bit dingier (assuming that’s a word) than Kirby was letting on. But we’ll see.
Go ‘Dawgs!!!
