John Cena is close to the end of his run in WWE, with just a few dates remaining before he hangs it up for good (and he still maintains he will indeed be hanging it up for good). That means the talk of who his final opponent will be at Saturday Night’s Main Event in Washington D.C. on Dec. 13 is ramping up.
Now we know how exactly they will decide who it gets to be.
We know because Cena himself announced as much during tonight’s Saturday Night’s Main Event special from Salt Lake City:
A tournament will start on the Nov. 10 episode of Monday Night Raw, with 16 participants — all chosen at random, with stars from every brand within WWE and, per Cena, maybe even some who don’t currently work for the company. The winner will get to make history as the guy to retire an all time great.
The latest rumors have it that GUNTHER is the likely choice, but plans can and often do change in the wacky world of professional wrestling.
Like the way WWE is playing it?
