The Good

After falling
to the Broncos 23-31 during the franchise’s inaugural season, the Jaguars came back from Mile High Stadium with a playoff win. Natrone Means, Keenan McCardell, and Jimmy Smith scored touchdowns. Mark Brunell completed 18 out of 29 attempted passes for 245 yards and was sacked twice for a loss of five yards. Natrone Means led the team with 140 rushing yards, and Jimmy Smith led with 71 receiving yards. Mike Hollis made the three attempted field goals. Eddie Robinson registered a sack. The Jaguars recorded 22 first downs, 443 total net yards, and a 32:24 time of possession, compared to the Broncos’ 21 first downs, 351 total net yards, and 27:36 time of possession.
The Bad

Fred Taylor, Damon Jones, and Pete Mitchell scored touchdowns. Mark Brunell completed 28 out of 46 attempted passes for 353 yards and was sacked seven times for a loss of 71 yards. Fred Taylor led the team with 27 rushing yards, and Jimmy Smith led with 121 receiving yards. Mike Hollis made one of the two attempted field goals. While both teams recorded 24 first downs, Jacksonville had 348 total net yards and a 26:13 time of possession, compared to Denver’s 465 total net yards and 33:47 time of possession.
The Ugly

Natrone Means and Travis Davis scored touchdowns. Mark Brunell completed 18 out of 32 attempted passes for 203 yards and was sacked three times for a loss of 16 yards. Means led the team with 40 rushing yards, and Keenan McCardell and Jimmy Smith led with 55 receiving yards. Mike Hollis made the attempted field goal. Clyde Simmons and Chris Hudson registered three sacks on John Elway for a loss of 22 yards. The Jaguars recorded 14 first downs, 237 total net yards, and a 19:01 time of possession, compared to the Broncos’ 28 first downs, 511 total net yards, and 40:59 time of possession.
