Newcastle United returns to St James’ Park on Saturday to face Bournemouth in its third Premier League game of the season.
Matthias Jaissle’s new-look side remains unbeaten across its first three competitive matches and enters the weekend with four league points after Anthony Elanga and Yoane Wissa scored in a 2-0 victory away to Tottenham Hotspur last time out.
Jaissle is expected to retain much of the side that earned his first Premier League victory, with Nico Gonzalez in line to keep his place
in midfield following an impressive debut. New signing Matias Fernandez-Pardo could also make his Newcastle debut from the bench, while Dan Burn, William Osula, Joelinton, and Tino Livramento remain unavailable.
Bournemouth arrives on Tyneside still searching for its first victory under new manager Marco Rose after taking one point from its opening two matches. The Cherries have nevertheless caused Newcastle plenty of problems in recent years, with the Magpies winless in their last eight Premier League meetings against them in the Eddie Howe Bowl.
