After a matchup between the reigning Super Bowl Champion Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots, and a Thursday evening game featuring the Los Angeles Rams and the San Francisco 49ers, there is still a ton of football to look forward to in Week 1 of the 2026 NFL season. For our Detroit Lions, they will host the New Orleans Saints this Sunday at 1 p.m. ET where they will look to get off on the right foot in front of what should be a lively Ford Field crowd.
Beyond that, there are still 13 other
games to take in, including some juicy inter-conference matchups that could give us a bit of a preview for what is to come the rest of the season. In the primetime slots, we get two divisional games with the new-look New York Giants hosting the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night, and the Denver Broncos visiting the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday evening.
In the Sunday 1 p.m. ET window, we get an early look at two AFC heavyweights in the Buffalo Bills vs the Houston Texans. and the first of two games between NFC North rivals Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings in the 4:25 p.m. ET slate. That brings us to today’s Question of the Day:
Which game besides the Lions are you most looking forward to in Week 1?
My answer: I am going with another game in the 1 p.m. ET window—the Chicago Bears taking on the Carolina Panthers in Charlotte. And while I won’t really be able to watch it since I will be inside of Ford Field, I will surely be checking my phone during breaks.
Both Carolina and Chicago are coming off division titles, and naturally, expectations have risen. How will both teams come out of the gates now that more eyes are on them?
What about you? Which game are you most looking forward to in Week 1 of the 2026 season? Let us know in the comments below.
