Dillon Danis was victorious in his first MMA fight in six years and he might already have his next opponent lined up: World’s Strongest Man legend Eddie Hall.
Shortly after Danis made quick work of Warren Spencer at Misfits Boxing 22 this past weekend, he found himself face to face with Hall and the two made a loose agreement for a potential fight.
According
to Hall, he has to lose a considerable amount of weight for Danis to accept the fight, but he’s prepared to sign on the dotted line if Danis sticks to his end of the bargain.
“He’s been talking shit for a long time, doing snide comments on the old social media, so I thought he’d put his money where his mouth is tonight,” Hall told Bloody Elbow. “He wanted me to get under 400 pounds, he must think I’m over 400. Well, I’m under 400. So I said, ‘Look, I’ll get under 300 pounds if he shakes hands on it there and then and he did shake hands, so give me 12 weeks, I will lose 64 pounds, and I will come in and rock his f*cking chin.”
Hall, a 2017 World’s Strongest Man champion, has dabbled in combat sports and recently made his MMA debut against fellow strongman legend Mariusz Pudzianowski at a KSW event this past April. It was a stunning debut for Hall, who finished Pudzianowski with strikes in just 30 seconds.
Should he actually set up a fight with Danis, he welcomes the inevitable war of words his opponent has become famous for.
“I’m actually quite a fan of Dillon,” Hall said. “I love his shit talk. He’s got brilliant shit talk. I think it was all the feud with the Paul brothers that made me aware of him. I’m a bit of a fan, but you can be a fan of someone but still want to knock them out.”
Even with just three MMA bouts under his belt, Danis is far more seasoned than Hall when it comes to combat sports, having competed in grappling for years and also boxed Logan Paul in forgettable 2023 contest.
Hall has plenty of respect for Danis’ grappling, but believes he has a serious puncher’s chance to silence the New Jersey native.
“I just think one good hit on his face and he’ll regret shaking my hand,” Hall said.
