Dusty May and the Michigan Wolverines are set to host Cincinnati transfer big man Moustapha Thiam on Monday for a visit. This news was first reported by Jon Rothstein on Saturday evening.
The 7-foot-2, 250-pound Senegal native started 31 games this past season as a sophomore and averaged 12.8 points and 7.1 rebounds per game while shooting 52.5 percent from
the field and 28.8 percent from three (15-of-52). He also put up 50 blocks on the season (1.6 per game) and had nine double-doubles. His best game of the season came in a 28-point outing at Kansas. He was named an All-Big 12 honorable mention for his efforts.
Thiam also recently took a trip to St. John’s, while Michigan State, UConn and Kansas are other big time programs trying to get involved.
Tennessee big man J.P. Estrella remains the only commitment via the portal for May and company.
Thiam ranks at the No. 12 overall player in the portal by 247Sports and No. 13 overall by On3.
