The second half of Bayern Munich’s 2-1 victory over Real Madrid in the Champions League at the Bernabéu had to be to tense for head coach Vincent Kompany.
With his team clinging to a one-goal advantage, Bayern Munich was tired and reeling late in the match. Meanwhile, Real Madrid was trying its best to get the game knotted. It did not happen as the Bavarians sealed a 2-1 victory, while under duress.
“You had the feeling the game was always on a knife’s edge. It could go either way. We felt we had more
and better chances. I hope that if we get them again next week, we’ll score more goals at Allianz Arena. Two goals here are good though, and we’ll take that,” said Kompany (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Now, the drama will build for a week as the two teams will steamroll into the second leg next week at the Allianz Arena. Can Bayern Munich finish the job?
