Jon Jones may be White House bound after all.
Earlier this month, the former UFC heavyweight champion offered up an apology to UFC CEO Dana White for the way things went down while trying to book a superfight
against Tom Aspinall. Jones was the biggest stick in the mud during that whole process and eventually pulled the plug on his own career with a surprise retirement (event though that lasted just a few weeks ).
Jones, who hasn’t competed since a TKO win over Stipe Miocic back in Nov. 2024, is doing everything he can to get under the good graces of the promotion to try to land a spot on UFC’s upcoming White House card in 2026. White has already said that he can’t trust Jones to actually show up and fight given the issues they had trying to book the Aspinall fight, but that hasn’t stopped “Bones” from asking for forgiveness.
Jones even put out his own UFC White House promo earlier this week.
White, who has always stuck up for Jones as being the best fighter of all time, was asked about Jones’ recent apology in an interview with TMZ Sports and is more than ready to bury the hatchet. Fight fans don’t know if that will lead to Jones fighting on UFC’s White House card or not, but it’s a good start.
“Absolutely” said White when asked if he has accepted Jones’ apology. “He doesn’t need to apologize to me for anything. Even through all of the bad stuff that me and Jon have gone through I still say that Jon Jones is the greatest of all time because it’s a fact.
“Everybody starts laughing when I say it. Jon Jones is the greatest of all time. Period. End of story. I know it and everybody else knows it. So there’s nothing for Jon to apologize for. Dealing with Jon over the last however many years has been a unique experience, but it doesn’t change the fact that he’s the best ever.”
