Barcelona’s clash with Espanyol in La Liga on Saturday evening
brought more controversy as the hosts saw a goal controversially ruled out for offside.The Catalans were already 2-0 up, thanks to two first-half goals from Ferran Torres, when the Shark netted a third and thought he’d effectively put the game out of sight.
However, the goal was ruled out for an offside by Eric Garcia after he headed the ball across goal for Ferran to net from close range.
It looked a close call in real time and was checked
and confirmed by VAR. The offside image was then released and brought plenty of confusion.

The decision is unlikely to go down well with Barcelona, who were left frustrated by VAR after the midweek defeat to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.
Espanyol then went on to pull a goal back to halve the deficit and set up a nervy finish at Camp Nou before Lamine Yamal made it 3-1 in the final minutes.
