After an extended international break, Bayern Munich is finally back at Säbener Straße — and there is plenty to be excited about as Vincent Kompany gets his squad back together.
Training resumed Monday with several familiar faces returning to the club. The German internationals who were included in the first squad are back in Munich, while Manuel Neuer, Sven Ulreich, Sacha Boey, Alphonso Davies, and Luis Díaz also took part in the session per Bild (via @iMiaSanMia).
For Bayern Munich supporters, seeing
the squad back on the training pitch is a welcome sight after an international break that seemed to drag on forever. Now, the focus can shift back toward club football and the challenges waiting for Bayern over the coming weeks.
Kompany also used the first session back to give several youngsters an opportunity to train with the senior squad. Tim Binder, Vincent Manuba, Guido Della Rovere, Noah Codjo-Evora, and Bogdan Olychenko were among the academy players involved.
While the established stars understandably dominate most of the attention, opportunities like these can be significant for young players hoping to make the jump toward first-team football. Even a handful of sessions alongside Bayern’s senior players can provide valuable experience and give Kompany another opportunity to assess the club’s emerging talent.
The timing is also important. Bayern’s next Bundesliga test is against FC Augsburg this weekend, meaning the coaching staff now has only a few days to reintegrate the returning internationals, assess everyone’s fitness, and get the team ready for another league match.
The international break is officially over and the Bayern Munich grind is back.
