The New York Giants on Tuesday added veteran linebacker Malik Harrison to their 53-man roster, filling the spot opened on Saturday when defensive lineman Chauncey Golston was placed on injured reserve.
Harrison, 28, is in his seventh NFL season. He spent the first five seasons of his career with the Baltimore Ravens after being a third-round pick by the Ravens in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Harrison spent the 2025 season with the Pittsburgh Steelers. In 90 regular-season games, he has made 43 starts. Harrison has signficant
experience playing both inside and outside linebacker, so he provides the Giants depth at that level of their defense. He has also been a valuable special teams contributor throughout his career.
Harrison was elevated from the practice squad for the first three games this season, the maximum allowed by NFL rules. He played 56 snaps, all on special teams, with two solo tackles.
To take Harrison’s spot on the practice squad, the Giants made the signing of defensive end Dawuane Smoot official.
