In one of the offseason’s biggest blockbuster trades, the Cleveland Browns sent Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for Jared Verse and several draft picks. Garrett is coming off a career-best 23-sack season, but now that the two players are on different rosters, which one will finish the year with more sacks?
It may be a bold prediction considering Garrett’s Hall of Fame-caliber career and stellar 2025 season, but Verse has a legitimate chance to come out on top in this competition.
The young pass rusher finished last season with 7.5 sacks, but with the Browns’ talented defensive line, this should create plenty of opportunities for production. He will be the team’s premier pass rusher on defense.
On the other hand, the Rams have Byron Young, who finished last season with 12 sacks, and a potential return from Aaron Donald. If this team has Young, Donald, and Garrett anchoring its defensive line, there are several ways things could play out. Donald and Young could help draw attention from opposing offensive lines, really opening up the opportunity for Garrett to produce at a high level. Alternatively, Young and Donald could split much of the production, potentially leading to lower-than-expected numbers for Garrett.
Currently, any sportsbooks that allow betting on sack totals have Garrett as the favorite, especially coming off his record-breaking season, with Verse in the Top 15.
