Like everyone else, noted pundit Didi Hamann is amazed at Bayern Munich’s red-hot start to the season.
However, Hamann is also hoping that the Bavarians are not peaking too early.
“They did that last season,
too. After the winter, they didn’t play well last year,” Hamann said (as captured by Sport Bild). “I’m not saying it will happen again. It was just the same last season, where they made the most yards in the preliminary round. From January onwards, they didn’t play particularly well. I hope they do better this year. Then they’ll have all the games in their bones. Then it will be difficult and long.”
Maintaining a balanced approach will be key. Part of that will mean more rotating like Vincent Kompany did on Saturday vs. Hoffenheim. The rest will come down to luck and avoiding injuries. Every season is a marathon and for now, it appears that Bayern Munich is equipped to handle it…even if Hamann is exercising a little caution.
Bayern Munich will get some down time…not much, but some.
The Bavarians are not back in action until Friday against Werder Bremen, so a day or two of rest will not be such a bad thing for a squad coming off of an arduous week.
Let’s check in on where things stand with Bayern Munich and some other hot topics as well. This is what we have on tap for this edition of the Bavarian Podcast Works Show:
