Bayern “worried” about Upamecano offers (Anfield Watch)
Bayern Munich and center-back Dayot Upamecano are reportedly still battling over a transfer fee and Liverpool could be ready and willing to bring the Frenchman to the Premier League:
Upamecano will be entitled
to speak to potentially interested overseas clubs about a Bosman deal in January and according to Graeme Bailey in TBR Football Liverpool will be in the mix.
“Speaking to sources at a couple of Premier League clubs, they actually believe Upamecano is more likely to stay than leave, but I can tell you Bayern are really worried that Upamecano will have offers presented to him in early 2026 if an agreement with Bayern is not reached,” he says.
“And Chelsea, Liverpool and Man City are all very much in the mix for him, they all rate him highly.”
Interestingly, Liverpool is not just eyeing Upamecano, but the Reds still like Michael Olise as well. The winger will be a much tougher get (and has a much longer deal) than Upamecano:
Upemecano is not the only Bayern star Liverpool have got their eyes on – with star forward Michael Olise being eyed as a potential replacement for 33-year-old winger Mohamed Salah.
If Bayern Munich does not have Upamecano locked by January, things could get dicey.

The Serie A club are reported to have been given the “green light” to bring forward the deal and sign the 22-year-old permanently in January for the £38m fee that was agreed with the Red Devils on a permanent option clause. Rummenigge lauds Hoeneß (Sport-Informations-Dienst via @iMiaSanMia)
Bayern Munich supervisory board member Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has nothing, but praise for his old pal Uli Hoeneß.
“I have to say one thing, regardless of myself, FC Bayern doesn’t need less Uli Hoeneß, it needs more Uli Hoeneß. Uli called me [in 2023] and said things weren’t going well. Julian Nagelsmann, who was supposed to be the coach for many years, had been dismissed. Thomas Tuchel came in as his successor, but never really worked out at this club. All of that led to rifts. Uli told me: ‘You have to support me. You have to help me. I can’t do this alone’ — since then the club has been looking for some continuity and stability,” said Rummenigge.

Kimmich talks Germany’s core (Welt am Sonntag via @iMiaSanMia)
When asked who could “form the spine” of the German national team, Joshua Kimmich had some interesting responses:
Who could form the spine of the national team besides you when everyone is fit?
Kimmich: “We have players we can rely on and who can form a stable core. Nico Schlotterbeck and Aleks Pavlović are back in the team for now. And a few more are coming, like Marc-André ter Stegen, Jamal Musiala, and Kai Havertz. And we have several players in the squad who are, or were until recently, captains of their clubs. I have big confidence in the team.”
Hmmm…
Barca scoping Leão? (ESPN)
Over the summer, Rafael Leão was reportedly high on Bayern Munich’s wish list, but now the winger could be headed to FC Barcelona:
A move for AC Milan winger Rafael Leão is still being considered by Barcelona, according to Diario Sport. The Blaugrana see the 26-year-old Portugal international as a potential long-term option, but his valuation of €80 million could make a deal difficult to pursue. Whether they continue to monitor Leão is expected to hinge on the future of on-loan Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford, who has made a strong impression at the club, and could be signed permanently after several impressive performances on the left side of the attack.
