Bryce Mitchell takes on an up-and-coming prospect instead of a seasoned veteran at UFC Vegas 118 after a late opponent change.
The UFC officially confirmed that Mitchell (18-3) is now set to face Santiago Luna (8-0) on the main card of this Saturday’s Fight Night event at Meta Apex in Las Vegas. Luna steps in on just nine days’ notice as a replacement for Victor Henry, who withdrew due to undisclosed reasons.
MMA Latinoamérica was first to report the new bout.
The always controversial Mitchell defeated
Said Nurmagomedov via unanimous decision in his most recent outing at UFC Abu Dhabi in July 2025. That win marked a successful UFC debut at 135 pounds for Mitchell, who previously competed at featherweight and has alternated wins and losses in his past seven fights.
Undefeated in eight pro bouts, the 21-year-old Luna has defeated his first two UFC opponents in impressive fashion, knocking out Quang Le inside of a round in his octagon debut and then earning a lopsided decision win over Angel Pacheco this past February. “Border Boy” has scored all but one of his wins by KO/TKO or submission.
UFC Vegas 118 is headlined by a welterweight bout between former UFC champion Belal Muhammad and Gabriel Bonfim.
