Win or lose, any football game is sure to include some standout individual performances.
Luckily for us, the Jacksonville Jaguars obliterated the Cleveland Browns in Week 1, and there are plenty of game balls to pass around.
Trevor Lawrence threw 4 touchdowns; Parker Washington had the coolest one of them; Foye Oluokun logged an interception and another pass breakup; Ventrell Miller had a team-high 9 tackles plus a sack and a forced fumble; and Josh Hines-Allen stuffed the stat sheet with 5 tackles,
1.5 sacks, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery (on different plays!).
After the final whistle, we asked Jaguars fans to pick Big Cat Country’s Player of the Week.
81% of voters chose Trevor Lawrence.
One of his touchdowns was a dime as he was rolling left (which is becoming a trend) that left Browns defenders in awe. Another was an impossibly tight-window dart near the goal line.
According to Yahoo Sports’ Football 301 podcast, Lawrence had a 99th percentile Completion Percentage Over Expected and 98th percentile Expected Points Added per play. It was also the second-best single-game Success Rate of his career.
