Maryland women’s basketball’s undefeated run to start the 2025-56 season is over. But the Associated Press voters didn’t knock the Terps too much for one loss — they fell from No. 7 to No. 8 in this week’s
top 25 poll.
A 73-70 home upset loss to Illinois on New Year’s Day snapped a 14-game winning streak to open the season. But the Terps bounced right back three days later, notching a 15-point victory over Indiana on the road to move to 14-1 on the season and 3-1 in conference play.
Next up for the Terps is a return to Xfinity Center on Friday, taking on 8-7 Rutgers.
