Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s proposed loan move from Barcelona to Ajax has been held up yet again as the two clubs continue to wrangle over the details of the transfer.
The Germany stopper had been expected to fly out to Amsterdam last week to complete his transfer to Michel’s side but remains in Barcelona and played in Friday’s friendly training game against CE Europa.
Reporter Matteo Moretto says that a new disagreement has arisen between the two clubs over the goalkeeper’s salary.
Barcelona are expected
to pay the majority of Ter Stegen’s salary during his loan but are refusing to budge in the latest round of negotiations due to Financial Fair Play constraints.
Ajax are also said to be “not budging” from their stance which has caused the proposed transfer to stall once again.
The hope is that the deal will finally go through in the coming days. In the meantime, Ter Stegen remains a Barcelona player and may even be included in the pre-season training squad that flies to England next week.
