Indiana men’s basketball is reportedly set to host its first visitor of the 2026 transfer portal cycle, per reporting from Joe Tipton of On3
.Markus Burton, a junior guard at Notre Dame, will visit the program in Bloomington starting this weekend after a visit to Houston, per Tipton. He’s spent the past three seasons with the Fighting Irish, playing only ten games in 2025-26 before suffering a left ankle injury in December that ultimately proved to be season ending. Prior to that injury, he averaged
18.5 points, 2.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game while shooting 48.9% from the field and 30.6% from 3-point range.
Burton is originally from Mishawaka, Indiana, and played at Penn High School where he won the state’s Mr. Basketball award in 2023. He’d be the first former Mr. Basketball award winner to play at Indiana under Darian DeVries and first since Anthony Leal’s final season in 2024-25 should he commit.
