The AP Poll released the week two Poll Tuesday afternoon and BYU once again remained just outside the rankings. BYU was the first team outside the top 25 in the preseason rankings and held its same spot in the week two poll, 26th overall. BYU received 102 votes overall, down from 156 votes in the preseason poll. Two new teams entered the poll this week — Florida State jumped to 14 after their win over Alabama and Utah checked in at 25 after their blowout win at UCLA.
Four Big 12 teams are ranked in
the top 25 — Arizona State (12), Iowa State (16), Texas Tech (24), and Utah (25). BYU will get a chance to get in front of more voters this weekend when they host Stanford at 8:15 MT on ESPN. Stanford is 0-1 after a week zero loss to Hawaii and the Cardinal are expected to be among the worst P4 teams in the country, but a decisive win by BYU could be enough to crack the AP top 25 next week.
BYU is ranked 25 in the USA Today Coaches Poll, down two spots from their preseason ranking.
