Former Athletic Bilbao, Juventus, and Tottenham Hotspur striker Fernando Llorente was recently asked if Bayern Munich center-forward Harry Kane would be the “perfect replacement” at FC Barcelona for Robert Lewandowski and the 41-year-old pundit’s response was not surprising.
“He would be the perfect replacement for any striker in any team in the world. When I was at Tottenham people talked a lot about Real Madrid and I said he would be perfect not just for Madrid but for any team. He’s a player who
does everything well,” Llorente told Hajper. “A team player, a professional through and through. He has it all. The only shame is that he’s getting older and has fewer years left. He also had quite a few injuries, I remember when I was at Tottenham he had a lot of ankle problems that slowed him down, but he’s still there scoring goals as always. That will never leave him and he could be the best in any team in the world.”
Kane is in the midst of his best season ever as he has tallied 50 goals and six assists in 42 games across all competitions. While an untimely injury and a heavy Champions League schedule will almost assuredly cost him the chance to break Lewandowski’s Bundesliga goal-scoring record, it will not diminish just how awesome the Englishman has been this season.
