As Will Stein continues to hammer out his first coaching staff as the Kentucky football head coach, one target just went off the board.
Former Florida Gators’ running backs coach Jabbar Juluke emerged as a target for Kentucky’s running backs coach. However, Juluke has instead chosen to join the Texas Longhorns coaching staff.
Texas announced the news on Friday.
A New Orleans native, Juluke spent the last four years in Gainesville. In addition to coaching running backs, he also serves as the Florida
associate head coach.
Prior to his time at Florida, Juluke worked with Billy Napier at Louisiana. In 2019, he was named Football Scoop running backs coach of the year. He also spent a couple of seasons at Louisiana Tech and was at LSU in 2016.
Prior to joining the collegiate ranks, Juluke was the head coach at Edna Carr (La.) for nine years and went to three state championship games over his final four seasons.
Juluke served as the primary recruiter for Trevor Etienne, who was a top 20 running back in the country when he signed with the Gators.
Under Juluke’s guidance, Jadan Baugh was outstanding for the Gators over the last two seasons. After emerging as a standout true freshman in 2024, Baugh rushed for 1,170 yards and eight touchdowns this season
It’s nice to see Kentucky was in the mix for what effectively amounted to a 4 or even 5-star prospect of a position coach, but alas, the Longhorns won out, leaving Stein to search elsewhere for his running backs coach.
