Super middleweight contenders Diego Pacheco and Kevin Sadjo will meet in the main event of a Matchroom show on DAZN, with the fight coming on Saturday, December 13, from Stockton, Calif.
Pacheco (24-0, 18 KO) has won twice this year, taking clear decision victories in 12-round bouts over Steven Nelson and Trevor McCumby, but Sadjo (26-0, 23 KO) is a good step up on paper. The 35-year-old “Punisher” is a former European champion with real power and some solid wins over the years.
The card will also
feature a return for Ernesto “Tito” Mercado, the 23-year-old super lightweight prospect who is now 17-0 (16 KO), as he looks to move toward proper contender status.
Stockton native Gabriel Flores Jr will also be on the bill, and it may be the 25-year-old Flores who is being counted on to sell a good percentage of the tickets. He’s popular in the city, but the former Top Rank prospect has largely been off the radar following losses in 2021 and 2022. He’s won six straight, but they’ve been steps back in competition. That said, he’s young enough to get back on track, and hyped prospects have lost fights and turned it around before.
