On the other side of the field, the Indiana Hoosiers rose to No. 11, amassing their highest ranking of the 2025 season.
With Illinois dropping out of the rankings, there are now six Big Ten teams
ranked,/With Illinois staying in the rankings, there are seven total Big Ten teams ranked in the top 25, (second to only the SEC who has 11 teams.)
The Illini will have to shift focus to USC, who check in at No. 22 after defeating the Michigan State Spartans 45-31, in a game that finished early Sunday morning.
This is the first time since the 2007 Rose Bowl that both teams will be facing off, and for the older Illini fans who remember, that game did not go the Illini’s way either.
The big game, still on FOX’s Big Noon Kickoff, will start at 11 a.m., as Illinois will search to find out what kind of team they really are.
